Retiring a yacht

When a yacht leaves your fleet — whether it’s been sold, returned to its owner, or simply taken out of service — you should archive it in Floatist rather than deleting it. Archiving removes the yacht from day-to-day use while keeping all of its historical data available for reporting.

How to archive a yacht

1. Open the yacht’s detail page from Settings > Fleet.
2. Click the arrow next to Edit to open the actions menu.
3. Select Archive.

What happens when you archive a yacht

• The yacht no longer appears in the fleet list, selectors, calendars, or on your marketing website.
• If you use the MMK or NauSYS integration, the yacht stops syncing — no new bookings will be pulled in for it.
• All historical data tied to the yacht (past bookings, tasks, checklists, comments, invoices, etc.) is preserved so your reports and analytics stay complete.

Before you archive

To avoid surprises, it’s worth checking a few things before archiving a yacht:

• Active and upcoming bookings — make sure any bookings on the yacht have either been completed, cancelled, or moved to another boat. Archiving a yacht that still has future bookings can leave guests with broken links.
• Calendars and pricing — any availability or pricing calendars assigned to the yacht will simply no longer apply once it’s archived. You don’t need to clean those up, but if the calendars were only used by this yacht you may want to archive them as well to keep your setup tidy.
• Recurring tasks — if the yacht has recurring maintenance tasks set up, those will stop generating new tasks once the yacht is archived.

Selling vs. temporarily taking a yacht out of service

Archive is the right action whenever a yacht should disappear from Floatist’s active views. If you expect the yacht to come back into service later (for example, an extended refit or an off-season pause), you can still archive it — historical data is preserved either way, and an archived yacht can be brought back when needed.
