Taking phone bookings
When someone calls your team directly instead of booking online, the recommended way to handle it is to enter the request on your own marketing website while you’re still on the call, using the same public site and the same form a guest would use. There’s no separate internal screen for this: the live site is always the source of truth for current availability and price, and using it means the caller hears real numbers instead of an estimate you have to double check later.
How to do it
Section titled “How to do it”- Open your marketing site in a browser.
- Search for the boat and dates the caller is interested in, and walk them through availability and price together, live, exactly as they’d see it themselves.
- When you get to the request form, enter the caller’s own contact details: their name, email, and phone number, not your own or a generic office address.
- Submit the request. This creates the booking request in Floatist immediately, the same as if the guest had filled it in themselves, and it lands in your request queue as Pending.
- From there, if your account has online payments enabled, open the request’s confirmation page and send them the link so they can pay once they hang up. See Confirmation page for how that link works.
No special permission needed to submit
Section titled “No special permission needed to submit”Because this is just the public form, anyone on your team can enter a request this way. There’s no login or role requirement to use the marketing site itself. Seeing the request afterwards in the queue, and accepting or archiving it, does require the Booking manager role. See Reviewing requests.
