Voice commands

Voice commands are powered by AI, and allow to execute certain actions with your voice. Floatist transcribes your voice message and processes it using AI.

Voice commands can be found in the Quick actions menu:

Creating tasks has been challenging for technicians and base managers due to:

  • Small mobile screens, making it difficult to type lengthy titles and descriptions.
  • Dirty fingers, which complicate the input process.

To address these issues, you can now use voice input to prefill the task creation form, allowing for quick manual adjustments to complete any missing details.

The AI-powered voice input feature simplifies task creation by automatically populating the following fields based on spoken input:

  • Title: A concise summary of the task.
  • Description: A detailed explanation of the task.
  • Boat: The boat mentioned in the input, if applicable.
  • Due Date: The specified deadline, which can be provided as:
    • Absolute dates: e.g., “the 21st of September”
    • Relative dates: e.g., “tomorrow”, “in 2 days”, “next Saturday”, “before tomorrow morning/afternoon”
  • Assignees: The assignees, that can be provided with:
    • Names or surnames: e.g., “assign it to Ante and Pablo”
    • Me: The user speaking: e.g., “assign it to me”

_I’m on Jupiter, and the microwave door does not open. We will probably have to buy a new one before this weekend. _
This voice command will then create a task with the fields like:

  • Title: Microwave Door Repair or Replacement
  • Description: Microwave door does not open; may need to purchase a new one before this weekend.
  • Boat: Jupiter
  • Due date: Coming Friday
  • Assignee: No assignee

There is a scratch on Jupiter’s deck, assign it to me.

  • Title: Deck Scratch Repair
  • Description: Repair scratch on the deck
  • Boat: Jupiter
  • Due date: tomorrow (since no due date has been mentioned, we use the default which is always one day ahead)
  • Assignee: me (user speaking)
