Go-live day

Go-live day has two parts: you point your domain to Floatist, and then the Floatist team activates the site on our end. Coordinate with support@floatist.com before starting so we’re ready to act as soon as your DNS change propagates.

Step 1 — Point your domain to Floatist

Log into your domain provider and add a DNS record that points your domain to ms.floatist.com. Full step-by-step instructions for the most common providers are on the Custom domain page.

Once the record is saved, DNS changes typically take effect within a few hours, though it can occasionally take up to 48 hours.

Note

In the Floatist marketing site settings, enter the bare domain only (e.g. yourchateryacht.com). Floatist’s routing handles both www and non-www automatically.

Step 2 — Floatist activates the site

Once your DNS is confirmed to be pointing correctly, the Floatist team handles the following:

• CDN and SSL setup — we add your domain to our CDN (Bunny) and generate an SSL certificate. SSL generation only succeeds once your DNS is already pointing to ms.floatist.com, so this step cannot happen before Step 1.
• Google Maps whitelist — we add your domain to our Google Cloud Console so map embeds render correctly on base pages. Without this, maps will not appear.

Contact support@floatist.com to confirm DNS is live and to trigger these steps. We aim to complete them the same day.
